Satellite Distribution

Satellite Distribution

Many broadcasters use satellite networks to distribute original content to a variety of direct-to-home operators. In spite of the continuing growth of fiber- and copper- based telecommunications networks, satellite remains a preferred choice for large- scale distribution systems. We have supplied several systems with more than 5,000 receive points from a single distribution head-end, and lead the market in the provision of complete satellite solutions.

TANDBERG Television offers a broad range of receivers equipped with satellite interfaces and is a pioneer in the introduction of both higher-order modulation and SVB-S2 for the broadcast environment. Similarly, the TANDBERG range of satellite modulators are specifically aimed at broadcast applications and can be upgraded to DVB-S2 via software at a later date, where necessary.

TANDBERG Director V5 is an industry-leading distribution application designed to control a network of receivers, capable of addressing from 1 to 50,000 units. It can schedule events such as channel changes and forced tuning, and also includes both TANDBERG Television's conditional access as well as DVB Simulcrypt interfaces.
